Antique Trunk

By katw78, 27 June, 2013
Description

I own a trunk that I was given as a gift from my father. I have had it several years and haven't had a chance to restore it. I was curious though how much its worth?. Not wanting to sell just basically find out more about it. Manufacturer, year it was manufactured and value, etc. Your input is HIGHLY APPRECIATED! THANKS!

Re: Antique Trunk

I also have a picture of the lock if that will help identify it. I didn't get that picture in by mistake. I can email it if someone thinks they can help. THANK YOU!

Re: Antique Trunk

Knowing the maker in the case of this type of trunk won't make much difference in value. Humped topped trunks like this tend to date from the 1870's through to about 1890, they were mass produced items and are not considered rare or valuable. At auction they often sell for less than $100.00.
