I have an antique western saddle that I have had a hard time finding information about. All I have discovered so far is it's about 100 years old and everyone who lays eyes on it wants to take it off my hands. For that reason it has been difficult to get honest information as to why this saddle is so desirable and valuable.
The saddle is made by The Western Saddle MFG. Co. Denver, Colo. MAKERS and it's a model 134. This saddle is still in great working condition. It's about a 14" seat. The saddle has initials on the back of the seat making me think it was custom made. The tree is fine and I keep it inside and condition the leather on a regular basis. I was told by someone at a western saddle museum in Wyoming it would be better off sitting in the corner of a room then on a horse.
I am just trying to find out any information I can about this saddle, history, why it's desirable, what it's worth, etc. I would appreciate any information anyone could give me and the saddle is NOT for sale. Thanks.
