This is a Large 4 ring hardback binder with approximately 330 pages of what seems to be every legal document, including all applications, affidavits, appeals, amendments, records, litigation and court proceedings (including records and documents regarding opposition in acquiring) the stagecoach and pony express logo and trademark for Wells Fargo Bank. It includes all pertinent records and intricate correspondence with the United States Patent Office and their representatives. There are over 100 pages of incredibly interesting and intrigueing photos, articles and stories from books and newspapers, lournals, advertisements, and other kinds of print dating back to the mid 1800's. There is a full account with all the details and pictures and profiles of all major players in the quest to use the image of the pony express for their armored car and transportation logo, eventually coming to represent the bank itself. which has become one of the single most famous logos or representations associated with any business or enterprise.
Most all of the pages in the binder are clear, orderly, detailed copies of the original articles and documents, but it appears to me that the focus of creating this book representing such an important and hugely recognizable piece of Americana, was placed on the foremost and most intricate details of the acquisition, not only on a professional platform, but on many very personal levels by the key players, as well.
