Cameo on black background (3-D)

This item was passed on to me. I had never seen it before. It is a cameo pendant. Fancy gold tone setting. The cameo is resting on a thick black base. The cameo carving itself is a white/ligtest creme color. It is raised toward the middle like a 3-D effect. I do not know what it is made out of or if it was reset. Any information would be welcome.
