My parents purchased this table 40 years ago at an antique store (that no longer exists) on Belmont Ave. in Chicago, IL. It was used in a convent before ending up at the store, and my parents just always referred to it as "the library table."
It has 2 carved lion (?) faces on either side, 4 carved "paws" at the base of the legs, copper pieces where the legs meet the table top, and 4 slim drawers (2 on either side). It stands 2 - 3 feet tall and is about 3 feet in length.
I've always loved this piece and would really like to learn more about it (how old it is, type of wood, etc). Thank you so much for any help! Sorry that the photo quality isn't better.
