Re: Chest of drawers
Hi Sue,
I saw your post and just had to come and say hello :)
I have an exact same cabinet to yours but mine is stained a little darker.
I found mine at a garage sale around 12 months ago paying only $10. Bargain!!
It was a little ratty so i brought it home, gave it a good sand and stain then posted on ebay to re-sell for a small profit. It was up for I think $80 and had no bites until one day a gentleman messged me.
He ask me where I had bought it so I told him. He then proceeded to tell me that the cabinet I was advertising for sale was in fact a cabinet made from "Kauri Pine" and dated back to between 1910 to 1930! I nearly fell off my chair!
He then suggested I rethink the selling price as it is worth ALOT more than $80!!
He never did tell me what it was actually worth but I took it down quite quickly and never tried to sell it again .. its grown on me :)
