Chinese Wedding Cabinet

By NufoundTreasures, 13 April, 2013
Description

This is a very light piece of furniture in very good condition.  There are no nails, screws or metal of any type built into this, with the exception of the piece on the front used as a latch to close the doors.   The doors are hinged to the main piece by "wooden dowel" type pieces.  It has two shelves inside that appear to be planks of wood side by side.  Someone (prior owner?) has cut a very small hole in the back lower left corner (I assume to put wires through it for some reason, not really sure) that measures about 1 - 2 inch diameter hole.

The dimensions are: 38" tall, 40" wide and 27" deep

This is about all the information I have.

I am trying to identify what type of Asian furniture.  I believe it to possibly be a Chinese Wedding Cabinet, but I am not sure.

I would like to know an estimated value, possible age of the item and any other information you may can provide.
