Christopher Columbus stamps

The US issued eight stamps in 1893 to commemorate Christopher Columbus's discovery of America. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbian_Issue in 2006 a complete set was over 10 grand...but I bet they'll probably keep going up. In appraising these, please be aware that they are the cents postage stamps and not the dollar ones.

If they are the 1 cent stamps...each retail for around $24 mint , well centered and no flaws. Used- about 40 cents. Damaged copies are almost worthless and badly centered copies maybe 1/2. Wholesale,dealers pay from 1/10 to 1/3. retail for stamps like this in collections.
