Re: Circa 1940 oval glass top coffee table

I personally love the style of the furniture and purchased my set because of its unique styling.  I spent time researching post purchase and can tell you the following: It was created by a furniture company called “Adams County Novelty Company.” The company was based out of Gettysburg, PA (another reason I love my set, as I grew up and still live near Gettysburg, so it’s local!) and was formed February 15th of 1946.  I verified this via a PA entity search.  It is registered under PA entity number 3286.  â€ś Adams Always for Finest Furniture” was likely the advertising/slogan not the company based upon this research.  It is likely late 1940s given the above facts and further defended by the gentleman I purchased my set from.  He indicated his mother bought the set within a few years of his parents wedding which was in the mid 1940s.  Unfortunately, there are not many posted sales of similar items to defend pricing but I paid $120 for my coffee table and two end tables.  I also saw a similar set on 5miles.com for $130.  Pricing would vary based upon demand and audience obviously so eBay or a similar site that is further reaching would fetch higher pricing.

Entity search https://www.corporations.pa.gov/search/corpsearch

Comp sale https://www.5miles.com/item/5ox2PAZeqVMgzdWG/adams-always-furniture-co-vintage-3pc-coffee-end-tables

I hope this information helps.

Sincerely,

Sam A.
