Clay whistle?

 My husband found this on the ledge of a bluff near Bear Creek, AL while on a nature hike. We just refer to it as a pig whistle or aardvark. It resembled some type of whistle to us. It seems to be made of clay or something of that nature. We have other items in our collection, but this piece has always intrigued us. We have had this piece for almost 4 years and have decided to finally have it appraised. Any information that you could give us would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
