Dog Statues

The previous owners believed that the dogs were Chinese Fu dogs. They are supposed to sit outside the main door to protect the house. It is unclear to us if this is actually what they are because we can not find anything close enough online. In every website we went to, the dogs were sitting at attention, while ours are standing on all fours. We aren't sure if this is signifacant. There is a possible artists' signature but it did not come up in any kind of google search.
