I purchased a tea pot made by E.G. Webster & Sons. It has a web mark with a star and the letter W inside the web. Below the mark is the numbers 663. Acid tests show that the pot is sterling or coin silver, however all my research (online) indicates that E. G. Webster & Sons made only silverplate items.
Is it silver or silverplate?
If it is silverplate, there is no loss of plating. It's in excellent condition except for some tarnishing and minor scratches.
