Description

This silver spoon appears to be large enough for a soup ladle.  It was used by my grandmother and handed down.  There are 5 markings together on the back and a seperate marking of a square box with the letter s.  The 5 appear to be a   j,y,&, s with a with a symbol following

Without actaully being able to see the marks clearly there is not much any one can say, but based on your description the marks do not appear to indicate this ladle is sterling silver. As a silverplated piece it's value would be modest, at under $35.00.
