under Edward Kasper original 1969
described as 'Three dimensional original signed piece is a unique art painted on the hood of a race car. Kasper adopted this tecnique from Art Director Richard Gangel, who invented a process in which he coated sheets of anodized aluminum with acrylic lacquers. This impress Kasper, who adapted it when Gangel assigned him to illustrate an article on hydroplane racer Bill Muncey"
Also "From an auto graveyard he got pieces of steel that he torch-cut to represent the 'trueness and ugliness' of a glossy sport's basic materials and to suggest the love it takes to give them beauty"
I've sent off info for a few appraisals, but haven't heard back yet and curious to know it's present day value. $5500 it sold for in '69 is 36K by the inflation calculator. Artist died in 1997. please let me know what you think! Thanks.
