My name is Crystal. I am currently helping this lady clean out her cousin's apartment. He is a collector of many things from tapestries and art to diesel train sets. At this moment I am looking for how much I can get for the items she wants to sell. She has had cancer numerous times and is struggling to get by. Her husband passed away and the cousin she just had to put in a home for dementia. The cousin had 2 apartments made into one and it is filled to the brim with collector items. I will not bombard you with everything. Maybe just see if you could help me with the following tapestries. The first one is a 2x3 ft framed french tapestry named Music Lovers FrenchThe second is a 2x5 ft framed tapestry that is named Fiesta in Spain- BelgiumThe third is 3x2 ft framed french tapestry named La Taverna Now, these could not be worth anything but I felt that it was worth checking out for her so we can tackle her medical bills if we can. I have tried to doing my own research. Was not able to find these exact ones; however, was able to find many like them. Anything helps, even just knowledge.
Re: Framed French Wall Tapestries
Most of these were made in Belgium and France during the first quarter of the 20th Century, some will have markings or labels on them to identify a maker. You could check our archives under "tapestry" and see if you can find any that match, that said, most tend to sell for under $300.00 if of the mass produced type.
