I have had the trunk for 11 years or so. I got it from a friend who purchased it at an estate sale in B'ham, Al., most likely from the original owner. I used it as an actual dresser until I moved to California where it became a table. It has a dent/crack in the exterior from its travels but aside from some stickers, tape and labels and general wear and tear, it is pretty much unscathed outside. It smells a tad musty from being closed up for so long but I has improved since I opened it up.I have the original key which unlocks both the trunk itself and the drawer column. I once thought I lost the key and tried to pick the drawer lock to no avail. This thing is indestructible and is really quite pretty. it contains a number of the original wooden hangers as well as one plastic hanger that must've been a replacement.
