Description
My father bought this set for my mother in Japan while on on a tour in the US Navy. I have a full dinner setting for 8 plus several serving pieces. I am just wondering if this is a recognized pattern or manufacturer (pictures included) and any information on it.
The bamboo is all in metallic silver and there is gold edging on the rims.
Thank you so much!
Re: Japanese china set - Silver bamboo with owls
Did you ever gather information on this item? I have a similar story to yours although the sugar lid is missing but I cannot find any information on the marking.
Re: Japanese china set - Silver bamboo with owls
The marking is Japanease script. The mark on the back of the plate is a generic one meaning Dai Nippon or "Great Japan". These wares were mass produced for export during the Taisho (1913-1926) & early Showa (1926-1988) period.
