This tea set is unusual in that it has two pots, two creamers, two sugars, 10 saucers, 10 sandwich plates, one large serving plate and only 6 cups left. The only mark on the back is "Made in Japan" in green. The picture is of a house on a hill surrounded by evergreen trees, perhaps a poppy field in the foreground and what looks like a tornado above it, although it may have just meant to be a cloud. I live in Oklahoma so it looks like a tornado to me. The colors are very pale white that looks a bit blue, cobalt trim and reds, oranges and greens on the design. There are a few chips on 2 or 3 plates and I think on 2 of the cups. Most of it is in very good condition. The serving plate must have been used quite a bit as it is much more faded than the other pieces. I purchased this in 1985 from the estate sale of one of my Sunday School teachers in Texas. She was probably in her 90s when she passed. She was a wealthy and well traveled woman. I have no idea how or when she purchased this tea set. I would love to know as much about this as I can.
Thank you
