Description
I have this extendable Jefferson Slide Table, from the Jefferson Woodworking Co. in Louisville. I don't know from which wood it is made (my online research indicates oak) nor do I know what year it was produced. However, it is very solid and with limited wear on its surface. The sliding mechanism is functional, but I'm missing the leaves to extend to its full 3m (10ft) length, from its contracted 1.5m (5ft) legnth.
Re: Jefferson Slide Table, year unknown
Your table was not actually made by Jefferson, Jefferson made table parts for other companies, like the table slides on this one. It's in the Federal Revival style, which has gone in and out of style several times since the 1970's, most like this are mid 20th century examples. It does not look like oak, if you could post up some closer images of the table top I could tell you what it's made of.
