Description
I have a cast bronze unsigned mermaid table. I have looked but not found
any on-line pictures of anything like it. It's larger than most and has a nice
Patina. 10 years ago a friend offered $4000 for it. 48"long 30" high hands
18" across tail 16" across base19" across w green petina on tail. The table
top is 51"x28"
Re: Mermaid Table base with glass top.
It's a very nice looking decorative item but I am almost certain it is modern unless you have history to suggest otherwise. My tablet is not allowing me to copy the links but I found two identical/extremely similar tables that have sold at auction, they are both made by "marina" and you should be able to find them via a Google images search for mermaid table "marina".
One was estimated at $300-$600 and went for $650
The other was estimated at $300-$500 and sold for $300
Many similar tables are still available for purchase brand new at $1000-$1500 from retailers, some less.
Re: Mermaid Table base with glass top.
Fishwacker is correct, these tables began to flood the market in the late 1980's as foundries in China powered up to broduce low cost bronze decorative arts items, pieces like this were also made in Mexico and sell in the ranges indicated.
