Hello,
I'm hoping to get these items appraised. They're Mexican Pewter. Here are the items:
Serving Tray
Serving Bowl
Basket Salad Bowl
Fork & Spoon Serving Utensils
Saucer
3 Ann Kary Sauce Bowls
We originally thought they were silver but was informed they were pewter. The 3 sauce bowls do have Ann Kary Stickers on the bottom as well as item #'s. The serving tray and serving bowl have stickets on the bttom that say Hencho En Mexico and another sticker with a company name where it was sold named Bayou City Imports. However, that company has closed down and no longer exsists. We're hoping to sell these beautiful pieces but are currently unaware of what Pewter is worth. Any ideas on how much these pieces are worth and who we could sell them to? Any direction you could point me would be greatly appriciated.
Re: Mexican Pewter Serving Pieces
Hencho En Mexico means made in Mexico ... The Ann Kary Pewter Company was founded in 1989 by an affluent Mexican family who recognized the value of high-quality Mexican handicrafts. Bayou City Imports points me to Huston Texas ... Pewter is a metal alloy of tin and lead, but it's mostly composed of tin. Tin prices generally fluctuates from $7 - $11 per pound. If selling for scrap, you can expect to get around 50% of the current price. I would not sell these pieces as scrap ...
Circa 1980 - 1990 Origins Mexico
Est Values ...
Serving Tray $30 - $37 US
Serving Bowl $20 - $30 US
Basket Salad Bowl $20 - $30 US
Fork & Spoon Serving Utensils $15 - $25 US
Saucer $7.50 - $15 US
3 Ann Kary Sauce Bowls $7.50 - $15 US each ...
Please note that market demand fluctuates greatly with these pieces. Because they are made of Tin and Lead I would not recommend eating off them as they are more ornate in purpose.
Thanks for sharing these interesting pieces ... Please leave me some feedback on my evaluations...
Peace Always
