Noritake Coffee Set

By dmbucher, 28 August, 2012
Description

This set was given to me by my mother-in-law. It has 6 cups (espresso size) & 6 saucers. The stamp on the back says it is Noritake "M" handpainted, made in Japan. It was given to her when she was married in 1949, but it wasn't "new" then. She did not know anything about it. It is in mint condition. I know there are many types of Noritake, & I have never been able to find another set like this one. I would love to know the history & value of the set. Thank you!

Re: Noritake Coffee Set

the mark inidcates your set was made in the late 1930's....Noritake only used the word Japan, not Made In Japan earlier than that.  Your set is a demitasse set.   Most of the gold would have been true 24k decoration. If it were n my shop, I'd price at $150.00
