Description

Family legend from 1950's is that this antique sea chest belonged to Edward Winslow, one of the founding Pilgrims on the Mayflower. Lock initials have EW. My father bought it in 1955 from elderly lady's home in town near both the historic home of Edward Winslow and Plymouth Mass where the Pilgrims landed. Domed chest, extensive metal scrollwork.

This indeed an old chest and if it does have any possible connection to the Mayflower would be very valuable. I'd strongly suggest contacting one of the major auction houses such as Sothebys to have a specialist examine it before offering it for sale.
