Description

This was my moms pride and joy, she got it from an estate sale when I was a child. There are no makers marks that I can find and the dovetails on the drawers appear machine made to me. When she got it it was covered in many layers of ugly brown paint that hid all of the carving and ornamentation. I'm not interested in selling, even if a worthless reproduction it is staying in the family just more of a curiosity as to what where when and who and maybe a value for insurance if needed. Thanks for any advice!

It's a Colonial Revival style piece made during the mid 1920's to early 30's. Pieces like this were made to resemble original American Colonial furniture made 1620-1780. Values last peaked for pieces in this style during the late 1980's, demand and values have slipped since then. Comparables now go at auction for under $250.00 in most cases.
