Painting Archibald Willard

Description

I am a descendant of Archibald Willard (who most collectors would know painted the "Spirit Of '76") and I have a painting - date unknown - of a landscape desert scene that he painted. The painting is signed by Willard and signature was authenticated by an appraiser around 10 years ago, whom I've since misplaced contact info for.  Painting appears to be water color/pastel, was told by the appraiser 10 years ago that it was likely that Willard used egg whites mixed with paint for tinting.  Painting was professionally reframed (using original frame) and re-matted in 1988. I am looking for an appraisal value for either insurance coverage or possible sale. Although I've left the "for sale" box unchecked, I may be interested in selling this item once I've obtained an appraisal of its value. I can be reached at [email protected] or by cell phone at 330-780-9619

Sincerely,

Donny Thompson

For insurance purposes you will need a physical appraisal for this piece by a Fine Arts Appraiser, nobody can provide such an appraisal online from images. That said, here's a link to Willards sold at auction:
