Description
I have never seen one of these tea cups with all the research I have done. Tea Cup and Saucer has a black background with pink, yellow and purple chrysanthemums in the center of the saucer and also the center of the tea cup. It is a teal blue or soft green not sure with gold trimming. I would like to know the history. On the back it has the "Her Majesty Queen of England emblem on it, Fine bon China England Regd. X8/1 and another blub I can't read.
Please help,
Patricia
Re: Paragon Chrysanthemums Tea Cup and Saucer
Let me know, it would be nice to know the history.
Re: Paragon Chrysanthemums Tea Cup and Saucer
Hello :)
Wikipedia has some info....
The Paragon China Company was a British manufacturer of bone chinafrom 1919 to 1960, based in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, previously known as the Star China Company, and more recently part of the Royal Doultongroup. Paragon was noted for producing high quality teaware andtableware, and was granted royal warrants by several members of theBritish Royal Family. Because there are two Royal Warrants stamped on the base, I'm thinking it may be dated 1937....
1937 - King George VI & Queen Elizabeth grants a royal warrant for the occasion of their coronation
I'm not an expert...hope this helps a bit :)
Re: Paragon Chrysanthemums Tea Cup and Saucer
Thanks for seeing this, I took it to a Antique shop and they said it worth only about $15.00 bucks, but it was too pretty because I've never seen one before so I kept it.
Do you have any idea what it would be worth? I don't think I would sell it for less than 50.00 but I could be way off.
Thanks for the help.
Patricia
Re: Paragon Chrysanthemums Tea Cup and Saucer
Paragon made huge numbers of these bone china cups for the export market, values for them vary by design, but we don't sell very many for over $30.00.
