pill box or snuff box

Description

We have had this box for years & have wondered about it. It is made of a copper color metal so I guess either copper or brass. The top of the lid has a glass dome and under the dome looks to be a biblical figure maybe Mary. She has a halo around her head & is holding a cross. On the 4 corners of the lid are blue stones.
