Refectory table, handed down through the family. Was used in a church/religious setting at some point. Table top swivels to reveal small storage space, then folds over to provide larger table surface.

Belonged to my grandfather's great aunt, handed down through the family. Was used in some type of convent or church at some point.
This actually a " Games Table" the compartment under the top was to store cards and games. It's an American Empire styled example, made about 1840. Empire furniture is not in high demand at the present time, comparable pieces sell at auction in the $150.00- $250.00 range.
