I purchased this at least l0 years ago in Galveston, Texas an old antique store for about $200.
I do not know for sure if it is bronze but it looks and feels like it. There is a black marble square pedistal above the feet/stand. Above that 2 cherubs are holding up the first of 2 greenish/black glass globes. Above that is some type of overhanging flower. Above that is another green/black stone/glass and then the scale balance pole. The scales themselves are made of the same green glass with scalloped edges and 3 chains for each scale.
There is some writing on ths object which I cannot identify. It says "A.B. Moulds", and I THINK "I(J?)ENCO UNION (CITY?). I can't read some of the writing. On the very bottom engraved are the numbers 1693 and in 2 places there is writing, like it was in an auction, one says "CRC" and another "7051." So, I have no idea what any of htat means.
It is lovely, but we have changed our home decor from red/green to blue and yellow and this is just sitting in the hallway by the washroom. I think it is a lovely piece, but I don't know what to do with it anymore.
