Re: smiley pig cookie jar
Here is the wording from a July, 1998 newspaper clipping that was inside a cookie jar that looked EXACTLY like yours in an antique store in Louisville, KY. I took a photo of the cookie jar AND the clipping because I, too, have the same cookie jar. My grandmother always had it on her counter, then my mom on hers. Now that both of them are gone, I have it on mine. (I was born in 1955) I was pretty shocked to find it in this fancy schmancy antique shop! I've never thought about it being worth anything ... just knew it had immense sentimental value for me.
The cookie jar in the shop (the one like yours) was priced at $350. I was thrilled that my little pig was worth anything at all. As far as yours (or mine) being a forgery, I can't imagine why anyone would go to the trouble.
Hope this helps!
