These date from the second quarter of the 20th century  and have recently become popular because of their portable nature. Closed up they can be used as a sofa or hall table, opened up, a small dining table, perfect for smaller homes and apartments. I see these sell for over $450.00

I have the same table exactly except mine is 60 inches long.  Everything else is the same.  Originally it was finished in what I'd call ebony or black which I believe is reminiscent of the 1920's.  I had it refinished many years ago to a golden oak color like yours.  The gentleman who refinished it advised me that it was made of three different kinds of wood but I can't remember what they were.  I think one part was Phillipine mahogany.  I'm not sure that any if it is oak.

Since mine is considerably larger than yours, I wonder what it would be appraised for.  I am seriously considering selling it.  My daughter isn't interested in it.  Would love to know more history about it.  I'm amazed that I came upon the exact same table.
