Re: Table with center leaf pop up
These date from the second quarter of the 20th century and have recently become popular because of their portable nature. Closed up they can be used as a sofa or hall table, opened up, a small dining table, perfect for smaller homes and apartments. I see these sell for over $450.00
Re: Table with center leaf pop up
I have one of these tables only in dark wood and it also has been passed thru family my family is from england and scotland so not sure who it came from if you find anything about this table pleas let me know at [email protected] this table has been in my home all my life
Re: Table with center leaf pop up
I have the same table exactly except mine is 60 inches long. Everything else is the same. Originally it was finished in what I'd call ebony or black which I believe is reminiscent of the 1920's. I had it refinished many years ago to a golden oak color like yours. The gentleman who refinished it advised me that it was made of three different kinds of wood but I can't remember what they were. I think one part was Phillipine mahogany. I'm not sure that any if it is oak.
Since mine is considerably larger than yours, I wonder what it would be appraised for. I am seriously considering selling it. My daughter isn't interested in it. Would love to know more history about it. I'm amazed that I came upon the exact same table.
