Description
The only information I have on this dresser is that it was given to
him by his friend in Georgia. His friend told him that it was his grandmothers then it became his mothers. There is the number 161 stenciled on the back of the dresser. The blk/white photo is of what I believe to be some sort of stamp or signature. It is very hard to make out the letters or numbers. They did an excellent of blending it with the wood grain.
I was also told that it is Tiger Maple. Other then that I cannot seem to find any other information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Tiger Maple 3 drawer Lowboy dresser
It's actually quarter cut oak and not tiger maple. Pieces like these date from the turn of the 19th century and were mass produced items. Oak pieces like this were much in demand during the 1980's, but demand and values have fallen drastically since then. Comparable pieces at auction often now go for under $100.00.
