Cast Iron Chandelier is estimated to be 1880-1900, has nine branches/lights and measures 38" across, by 42" high. This piece was created with very ornate scroll work and has a bronze/black patina. The details featured in the cast iron work are urns, leaves, scrolls and soldiers (on horseback), each with a hatchet. Previously a kerosene fixture, it was converted to electric roughly 10 years ago. I was told that the former resident of my house had acquired the chandelier at an antique's sale in upstate NY, but it was completely disassembled and took him over a year in cleaning and restoring, then wiring and suspending in the tower room where it is now.
The nine gas globes (3 on top tier / 6 on lower branches) measure 7" high by 7" wide. Total weight is estimated at 200+ lbs.
