Description

4 drawer vanity with swivel mirror.   Drawers are a tongue in groove type construction.  Suspect the piece to be circa 1940's based on some World War 2 era items found in the grooves of the drawer guides.  But not being an antique expert I'm in need of your input.  Items found in the drawer guides were two OPA Red Point rationing tokens, and an old key.

Pardon the bad picture of the hardware, not sure how the black and white got into the lower part of the pic, but it's not something that is on the furniture itself.

Category Furniture
Medium All wood construction. The only non wood material would be the hardware holding the mirror to the supports.
Distinguishing marks No marks or manufacturers name found.
Condition Good
Size and dimensions of this item Desk 28" high, 17" deep, 42" wide. 32" from desk top to the top of the mirror
Date Period Suspect 1940's or 1950's.
History Found in a Salvation Army thrift store. An identical mirror was also with it, indicating there may have actually been a second vanity, but no desk could be found in the store or in their warehouse.
Price Paid (If known) $60.00

Most like this one date from the 1950's, it's a moderen version of American Colonial that became popular after World war Two, made by companies such as Vilas. In some cases these pieces were branded witha company marking. We'd retail one like thid for about $400.00, bu they often go at auction for less than $150.00.
