Supposedly a ring from Viking or Saxon era. It has an inner diameter of 2.1cm and is weathered some but the pattern on the face can still be made out. The ring appears to be made from bronze. There is an "R" symbol or rune on the band. There is a diamond style pattern on the face. The ring was found in the East Midlands area of England inbetween Nottingham and Lincoln using a metal detector.
I brought this ring online for £10 and it was sold as a genuine viking antique ring. I would like to know the validity of this claim, also what the “R” stands for.
