Similar to many bird ornaments however these have some major differences.
The bottom of the bird has a single depression for what may have been a place to attach the clip with springs to the body (looking like feet)
The bird body is wrapped in a very fine "wavy" wire and has a hanging wire made
out of a fine wire rope. We have always referred to the tails as wheat tailsas they appear to be various colored "plant-like" stems with fuzz and little seed pods
