As to the best of my knowledge the trunk is from around 1915 made by the bicsi training Crouch & Fitzgerald company in New York City. I have read that hey were thee most top quality trunk made in the USA at the time, up there with louis vuitton. the trunk avaya training has no visible wood that i can see, the slats are either solid leather or covered. The corners are of very thick 1/4" leather . the decorative metal on the corners 83-640 looks to be steel? the lock and keeper look to be brass. there is no key to this trunk. the interior is in good shape covered in a tan canvas like material. all of the hardware including hinges is in great shape, the hasps are very strong, not much use.70-686
