The year was 1931. On a corner lot on Santa Monica Blvd in West LA, our Grandfather, Robert Wertz, founded Wertz Brothers Furniture. His sons Robert Jr. and Lawrence took over the business until 1969, at which time Robert and Lawrence split. That same year, Lawrence's sons Mike and Larry entered the business, soon operating up to 4 locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
