It has been restored and is in very good condition for it's age. I don't know if all of it is original or not though. Perhaps someone with more expertise than myself could shed some light.

I bought it at auction near Grand Rapids, Mi. I know very little about it although I am told that it is characteristic of models made in Quebec, Canada dating from the early to late 1800s.
Spinning wheels of this type were produced in large numbers during the 19th century and are still quite available in the General Antique Market. Values depend a great deal on condition with machines of this type with all of their parts selling in the $200.00- $300.00 range.
Thank you for your input Lovejoy! I know that it is difficult to judge a piece by a few pictures, but, in your opinion does this piece look complete? I'm afraid that I know next to nothing about spinning wheels.
