Description
I have found a small brass box with an art deco-style design etched on the top. The etching is filled with white. The inside of the box is lined with a red velvet material. On the bottom of the box is a stamped script signature, but it's not quite readable. It looks like L____ Sp_____ with both the first and last name ending in a 'tall' letter like a d or l. I would like to find out anything I can about who this maker might be, when the item may have been produced, and what it's original use was since I would not think a pillbox would be padded.
I appreciate any information or leads. Thanks!
Small boxes like this tend
Small boxes like this tend to 1920's to mid 30's pieces, used for cosmetics, face powder etc... Most were recycled for use as trinket or pill boxes agter the original product was used up. Value wise, sometimes these little boxes can sell for over $30.00.
