Description
I used to live in Bath ME, and one summer at a country auction I picked up a tattered beach chair with canopy and detachable slated leg rest. It is made out of oak, and is stamped under the arm Paris MFG CO, South Paris ME, No, 470. Can anyone tell me anything about these chairs? I'm intrigued that is numbered.
Re: Paris Mfg.Co. lawn-beach chair with canopy
The Paris Mfg Company was located in new york at the turn of the 1900's and may still be in existence , I am not sure when they moved to Maine but they were known for the quality of their pieces , desk chairs and rolltop desks. Â For a period of time they made Red Flyer Sleds , Â By tattered I am assuming you are talking about the material which if badly tattered should be removed and the frame sold , Â these do sell as the company has a good name but the value probably shoud be in the fifty to seventy five dollar range but has potential , and than being only one may flop completely. Â For me put it up at one dollar and let it fly where it mayÂ
The number is nothing special , everything they did had a number , the number referred to the catalog pieceÂ
