Description
This was my grandmother's tea set. My husband is in the military and in our last move, this set was lost or stolen. The only three pieces I still have are two sake cups and the tea pot. I used to have the complete luncheon set. It was paper thin with lunch and desert plates, tea cups, sake cups, sugar and creamer, and tiny plates--maybe candy plates?
I was told that the moving company was "looking for it" and in the mean time, I should get appraisals. I really have no idea where to begin and any help would be appreciated. We live on Ft. Bragg, NC.
Re: Kutani 1000 faces tea luncheon set
Can you post here or email me a photo of the pieces that you have? Can you include a back stamp or mark on the back of the set if possible?
Often there is great difficulty in getting an exact replacement for older pieces, and even if the pieces were available the condition can be erratic making the set look assembled and inconsistent.
There is WorthPoint and other periodicals that "might" reference the pieces. But lets first take a look and be certain what we are discussing.
