13th Century Turkish Copper Warming Tray

By jennifercatering, 21 January, 2010
Description

This is a large copper warming tray with very intricate inscriptions [see photos], has been used as a mantle piece within family for generations, no one really knows where it came from/belonged to originally, although my parents inherited it from my grandmother - and they claim to know that it was from "the Duncan House"...which no one really knows where that is. Looking for anyone who has a similar piece/would know the significance & value of it. Not looking to sell.

I have additional photos which show more complete detail of the inscriptions if someone is able to translate them. please contact me.
