Re: New Amsterdam Silver Co., Quadruple Plate; Pewter Tea Set

Your set is not pewter, it's simply lost all of its original silverplating, which means the majority of its value is gone as well. It might just be very tarnished, try polishing it up, show us some images and we'll all look at it again.

Re: New Amsterdam Silver Co., Quadruple Plate; Pewter Tea Set

the stamp on the bottom, what exactly does it say? and is there a letter and numbers stamp?

i have a similar style water pitcher and i made the mistake of using metal cleaner on it and now it is sparkling silver but it did expose the stamping on the bottom.

does it actually say "quadruple plate"?

im gathering info before i speak to my grandmother about the pitcher. at 95, she only wants specifics.hope to hear from you.
