This item looks like a figurine when viewed from the front but there appears to also be a 1 - 1 1/2 inch opening behind the female figure where you could insert long stem flowers. The piece looks very similar to one I viewed on the Internet which depicted a woman sitting atop a scalloped shell base holding a jug. That particular piece was circa 1905 and signed by the artist Hampel. While I have no such signature the coloring, tone, use of gold leaf and overall depiction of the female look very similar. The markings on the bottom have the pink (actually almost red) triangle with the acorn and the E.
This piece comes from the St. Louis side of my family and was quite possibly purchased in St. Louis around the time of the world exhibition of 1904.
Re: Royal Dux Bohemia Figurine/Vase
A lovely bit of naughty Art Nouveau, I've not seen one to match this one, I'd peg it at $800.00- $1100.00 at auction.
