venetian mirrors

By jsmith, 7 December, 2010
Description

Lady who sold them said that the mirrors were Venetian, there are 2 of them exactly alike.  Both are beveled, the glass seems to be a smoky cracked look.

Can anyone tell me how to know if they are really Venetian and how old they really may be as well as value.

Any help is appreciated.

After I establish a true value, I may sell as a set or individually.

Thanks

Re: venetian mirrors

It's almost impossible to tell without examining your mirrors what you have and how old they are. The frames look late Victorian, but Venetian mirrors look like this:

Re: venetian mirrors

Thanks for the response and web site, I found one that was similar but the glass on mine is very different.   I dont think I've ever seen any others with the smokey look like mine.  Know any local appraisers in Okla?

Thanks
