Chest of Drawers?

This piece of furniture was picked up from a estate in the washington DC area 35 years ago by the salvation army and I bought it at their yard sale. It was painted dark brown and had many layers of paint on it. I cleaned off the paint and was thrilled to see the original wood and wood patterns.
