This is a victorian carved settee with figural wooden arms. If it were to be restored, similar pieces are selling for $300-500 at auction. Unfortunately, the cost of doing such professionally. would probably outweigh the value of the piece. It would be a great project for a smart do it yourselfer.
This one actually post dates 1900, similar pieces were made right up to World War One (1914). They are generally made of maple or birch and given a red mahogany dye stain. Refinishing them properly generally requires the service of a professional to get the color right as regular hardware store stains do not penetrate hardwoods such as maple and birch. 'In the rough" pieces like this often sell for onder $150.00 at auction.
