Re: Black Forest miniature gingerbread house
Was searching a bit, and I`m puzzled with that hole at the bottom...is it possible that it`s missing a piece and was a pencil sharpener ?
Re: Black Forest miniature gingerbread house
Hi, and thank you for your comment. There are no scratches, dents or markings on the patina in the cavity, which is about 1inch deep. I have posted an additional photo that includes more detail, and appreciate any assistance"

If the chimney is hollow it's Christmas incense burner, the smoke from the incense would come out the chimney.
Re: Black Forest miniature gingerbread house

Re: Black Forest miniature gingerbread house
If there is not hole, it's most likely just a Christmas themed Trinket box, value less than $45.00.

Re: Black Forest miniature gingerbread house
antique christmas Candy Container - West Germany This just my thoughts to what this might be. I'm not %100 sure. Think about money and gifts in the 1800s. If you got a small gift for Christmas it was worth more then anything monay could buy. You get a small gift from the top of the box. but hidden in the bottom was the extra gift of a hand full of candy. I have not found any Gingerbread houses, mostly Turkeys and Santa ...Prices. $9.99 to $125.00 Hope this helps..If you look up these you will see what the base looks like.. I think that part is missing.
