John Obrisset Cameo of Queen Anne Circa. 1705 London John Obrisset worked between 1705 - 1728 He was a Huguenot carver, horn and tortoise-shell worker. He also made snuff boxes. Only approx. 30 of his works survive to this day. His works can be found in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. This medallion of Queen Anne (1702 - 1714) was created to commemorate the political union of Scotland and England. The tortoise shell medallion is set in 15K rose gold, and can be worn as a pendant (flip-down bale) or as a pin. It measures 2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches high. It is paper-thin and exhibits the most delicate and superb craftsmanship. This item can be found in the acredited reference "John Obrisset - Huguenot Carver, Medallist & Tortoise Shell Worker...with examples of His Works dated 1931 Author: Phillip A.S. Phillips, Publisher: Batsford, London, England. The cameo is signed OB and dated 1705" NOTE" I copyed this from an old sale information, I think it was 2002.
I suggest that you give the guys here a chanch, pay for the appraisal.
